Mapping Flight Paths

I was looking through my pilot logbook and thought it would be cool to map out the flights I have flown. The first map below shows the flight paths and the opacity of each flight path is linked to how often I've flown that path. You can see that most of my flights are out of Concord Regional Airport, this is where I got my PPL and it's about 20 minutes from where I live.

The second map below shows the flight paths but colored by training type. As you can see the PPL training flights were pretty close to the home airport, but training flights for the more advanced instrument rating were longer. Flight requirements for Commercial Pilot License will be even longer, usually covering multiple states.

PPL Flights: Red

Instrument Rating Flights: Green

Time Building Flights: Blue

To plot the flights I used Scattergeo from Plotly's graphobjects. I was able to put the traces on the map by using longitude and latitude coordinates to plot the start and end of each path.
